So, for six or seven hundred bux, might be worth considering at that point. I am not exactly short on space, but it's not in abundance either. The adapter is a 1 X 8 tpi so that most any chuck will work on your shopsmith as long as you have this adapter.

It's remodeled 3 houses, built my shop, built numerous kitchens of cabinets and now, just builds boxes and gun cabinets. If you haven't done so already, you might take a gander at this forum, too.
