WebNov 11, 2024 · For those following,while it was running yesterday I removed veracrypt and changed sleep to hibernate. Shut the machine down completely. Started up fine. This morning dead again, two amber one white "cpu failure" message. This was a machine which despite overheating regularly was fine until last week when it melted. WebLast Updated Date: 07 Aug 2024. I went to dell`s website (downloads and drivers) and downloaded (saved to hard drive and then run) this Bios Firmware update and I am having no more random shutdowns! Its` only been 2 days but my device has worked flawlessly.

You could try going into airplane mode before shutting the lid to see if it helps. For me, if I'm going to have it in a backpack for more than about 20-30 mins, I hibernate it.
